Why isn't The Brownsville Herald investigating the current status of the multi-modal bus terminal? Is UTB/TSC President Dr. Julieta "Tia Caca" Garcia trying to scuttle the project through her control of United Brownsville? Why is she so intent on taking from the community? Why isn't she demanding that the UT System pay TSC the $12 million in back rent? Why isn't she demanding that her tenants at ITECC pay the $100,000 in back rent? Why is she holding this information from her own board? Does she prefer conducting business under the cloak of darkness as she does at United Brownsville? And what is her relationship with Matamoros millionaire Carlos "El Mago" Marín who seems to be playing both sides against the middle? Mayor Pat "El Perro" Ahumada is warning the community that she can't be trusted. Blogger Juan "El Muckraker" Montoya has always warned his readers that Garcia can't be trusted. Then why does the Herald continue to protect her? "If it weren't for the newspaper, she wouldn't have become president," says a former editor at the daily. "They hounded her predecessor out of office and she replaced him. There is no doubt that she has lost control at the university. Her allies on the TSC board are abandoning her and a new slate of candidates sympathetic to Trustee Rene Torres are launching campaigns with platforms demanding more accountability from Garcia and a reassessment of the partnership between UT and TSC. As a part of the notorious Kardenas Klan, she has abused her power for too many years. She likes to portray herself as the Mother Teresa of Brownsville when she has never done anything but prostitute her own people."
